In interview for MILLENNIUMKatya Echazarreta stressed that now girls can play astronauts and dream of becoming whatever they want, and that they also know that one day this can come true.
“If they want to play astronauts, they can become astronauts in the future, it doesn’t just have to be a game (…). The difference with this doll is that it’s not a generic astronaut doll; It’s from a real woman who exists, that she is working, that she really had these experiences and that she continues working to create opportunities for all Mexican and Latin American girls and boys in general, who want to achieve something like this. I think that gives them a lot of hope as well,” she said.
