Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Almost a hundred years ago a small wooden house became the ideal space for Catholics in Ciudad Madero. what is today the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
On January 1, 1923, a new house of God was erected, this Catholic Church Now modernized and its image has been improved, it has stained glass windows and a surprising structure. Below the foundations there are 300 crypts, of which half have been used. In 2023 it turns one hundred years old, it dates from the 19th century; remaining in the heart of the oil city and converted into one of the main tourist attractions in the area.
Isauro Alfaro Square
is the main square of Ciudad Maderohas nearly 40 years of history and is located in the heart of the City, on Allende street in the 1ro de Mayo neighborhood, It was inaugurated on November 29, 1982 by the President of Mexico at the time, José López Portillo.
The square is named Isauro Alfaroprecisely in honor of Isauro Alfaro who was assassinated on April 14, 1929 a few meters from the square.
It should be noted that before it was the main square of the people of Madero it was the space of a school called “Isauro Alfaro Otero”, which was demolished to become what this public space is today.
Barra Lighthouse

If what you are looking for is a family atmosphere, outdoor entertainment or a moment of relaxation in contact with nature, Flora and fauna we recommend that you visit the Bicentennial Parkwhich is located on Avenida Tamaulipas a few minutes from the Miramar beach in Madero City.
This attraction has an artificial lake where you will find ducks and some turtlesinside the park there is a train which offers you a tour of the facilities, it also has table areas for picnic and fountains that work for the little ones to cool off.
It also has a “aviary” located to the left of the entrance to the park, restrooms and a little store near the childish gamesif you wish you can feed the ducklings and turtles or simply take a walk around the place, it also counts with a lane for riding a bicycle.
Near the entrance is the “planetary” a very nice place where they explain theories of life, and at the end of the tour they show you the moon projected in 3D and an environmental awareness video.
This is an excellent place for good fun for children and young people who want to enjoy a rich rest afternoon.
